“I’ll just do it myself”, “I'll save money if I just do it myself”. We’ve all been there. We have all thought about doing something ourselves in an effort to save money, whether it be to do your own car’s oil change or something along those lines. But when renovating your home, why should you think twice before you say “I’ll just do it myself”?

DIY?
Nowadays with social media such as YouTube and Instagram, it seems easier than ever to pick up a new hobby or learn a new skill. Within a matter of seconds, you can search up on YouTube how to do something. From how to cook a simple meal to how to build a car. You know what they say, “you can find anything and anyone on the internet”. But when it comes to renovating your home, why should you be careful to do these things on your own?
STOP And First Think!
Sure, you scroll through your Instagram feed and see all these DIYer pages making renovations look so easy. It makes it look like it's so simple, and you can just do it yourself. Sure some things are simple to do, and maybe you can do it yourself, but don't believe the misconception that you can do EVERYTHING yourself. Most of these DIYers still had someone that knows renovation really well to help them along the way or they themselves may have had a lot of prior knowledge. There are a lot of safety and health hazards that you should be careful of.
Profesionals!
Not every renovation project is the same. Almost every house has something unique or different in it. What may seem good for one house, may not work for another. There are many components to a home including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and the list goes on. These people in each individual trade went through extensive training and schooling to learn their craft and learn how to do their job safely. If you don’t have this knowledge, you can put yourself in a very bad situation that could put your health at risk.
