What Is A Blueprint?
A construction blueprint is a design or plan that indicates everything that will make the “Structure”. This includes all of the following: materials, walls, foundation, frame, door, and much more! So as you can see, a blueprint is an essential part of creating a home or building.
How To Read A Construction Blueprint?
So now you want a blueprint, now it's time to learn how to read one. You will need to get used to some symbols and letters and what they represent.
Grid System: The grid system is there for you to find a specific area quicker and easier to make your life easier.
Legend: The legend is there for you to see what each symbol represents. Because a blueprint can be confusing at times, the legend is there to help you!
Title Block: The title block indicates the general information for the blueprint which includes some of the following: name, contractor, property, and much more!
Revision: This indicates all changes that have been made to the blueprint so that it can be kept a record of.

There are multiple views of a blueprint which include the following:
Plan View
Cross Section
Isometric
ETC…
The multiple views help you visualize what each side of the house will look like.
